What is a Holistic Nutritionist?
By definition, a Registered Holistic Nutrition Practitioner™ (RHNP™) or Holistic Nutritionist delves into the relationship between lifestyle, nutrition and overall health, focusing on the mind/body/spirit approach to health.
Instead of focusing on just one aspect of the person, or taking a one size fits all methodology, holistic nutrition evaluates the complete health history, emotional state, lifestyle habits and current diet habits of an individual to determine the root cause of his or her health issues.
To heal one part, we must acknowledge the whole.
In Ontario, an RHNP™ has over 2000 hours of in depth training in holistic nutrition with an accredited school by the Canadian Association for Integrative Nutrition (CAIN) and every year we are committed to continuing education in order to maintain our registry status with CAIN.
As the demand for Holistic Nutrition services increases, more and more insurance companies may cover those services. I recommend you check with your insurance company to see if Holistic Nutrition is an accepted service.
